I have a Mac! Help!
"By now you have experienced life with a Mac in a PC dominated business environment. Hope is not lost. We can help.
1) If you need to run a Toolbook software course (PC based), you can do one of two things (item "a" takes effort, item "b" is painless):
a) Install the program "Parallels" and "Windows XP" to emulate a Windows OS. You can use their trials and buy if you like it. This solution works for our USB flashdrive and online courses.
b) If you don't require the audio, and you have high speed internet, we can set you up to control and display one of our PCs on your Mac screen. This will allow you to run the programs over the internet using "gotomypc". It works quite well and our computers are configured already as required.
No software installation is required, but you must contact our office to get the web address and password. (832) 585-8601 Extension #101."
2) Our Director software online courses should run on a Mac or PC. If you can't get it to run or can't get credit for your training, call our office for assistance. |

I'm not getting credit when I finish a module, why?
"If your records will not transfer, it is due to one of the following:
1) You may be viewing a Learning Management System webpage that has been stored in your computer's Temporary Internet Files folder (or system cache). Press the F5 key to refresh the display.
If this does not clear up the problem, and your records are indeed not transferring from the browser to the database, the following issues may apply:
2) You are not connected to the Internet (double check to see that your internet service did not drop off during the session and that you are still connected), or
3) You are using AOL, Netscape, or CompuServe. Internet Explorer MUST be used!" |

Error: Cannot Find SHELL.DLL
"A missing shell.dll file is usually the result of some form of spyware hijacking certain functions of your computer's operating system (Windows 98/ME/XP). This is not related to your training modules or the installation of Neuron.

PROCEDURE:
[Click here to download the replacement shell.dll file]
1) Select SAVE when the popup dialog box asks what you wish to do.
2) Select Desktop from the icons in the left column when asked where you wish to save the file. Then Click the SAVE Button.
3) Click the CLOSE Button after the file download completes.
This has placed a compressed file called shell.zip on your desktop. You must open this file and copy the enclosed shell.dll file to the c:windowssystem AND the c:windowssystem32 folders. If you don't know how to execute these procedures, seek the assistance of your IT specialist or other associate who has mastered these skills.
