I-Check Digital Identity
A Digital Identity is the unique representation of a subject engaged in an online transaction. Digital verification establishes that a student is attempting to access a digital service is in control of one or more valid verifiers associated with that student’s digital identity. The processes and technologies to establish and use digital identities offer multiple opportunities for impersonation and other attacks.
I-Check uses a student’s typing pattern as an abstract numeric representation of typing behavior that cannot be directly associated with the student who generated it. So, the identity stays with the student, protecting privacy. This way, I-Check can create a digital identity without the risks associated with storage of detailed personal data.
The information contained in I-Check allows for assessment and verification of a student interacting with the CPaT Learning Management System. The I-Check connects control of a valid verifier with identity through behavioral biometrics while limiting the amount of personal information captured.
